Bonnie Baker The Student Council is a student-government organization designed to protect and advance the in- terest of students and faculty concerning school problems, provide opportunity and experience in self- government for students, and foster sentiments in law, order, and discipline. The activities of the Student Council include the enforcing of hall regulations and the directing of student traffic between classes. The Student Council also sponsors dances after basketball games for the entire student body. The council assisted the cheerleaders in sponsoring a pep-rally for the soccer team. But, the council's big project this year is the erecting of signs near the highway indi- cating the location of the school. In addition to these activities, the council will organize the annual school picnic and sponsor many other worth-while school activities. 82

An na Marie Bilger The Future Homemakers of America's main goal is, To help individuals, improve personal, family, and community living. The Chapter deals with three kinds of projects. They are National, State and Local. Chapter learn- ing experiences should bring members satisfaction and enjoyment, contribute to the growth of the members in regard to understanding abilities and for appreciations. Five girls received the State Homemaking award at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show this year. The girls were Mary Walter, Martha Thomas, Ilah Spigelmyer, Madeline Wagner and Carol Lose. B4
