■ MRS. BERNICE EDELCREEK MR. GEORGE WEINSTEIN Senior Advisers The senior year at West Side is full of various activities designed to make the last year exciting and memorable. Without the helpful supervision of advisers these activities would be impossible to plan and carry out. The Class of June, 1962, has been fortunate in having three sympathetic and understanding senior advisers: Mrs. Bernice Edelcreek, Mrs. Pearl Meyer, and Mr. George Weinstein. With their tireless help, the senior class has successfully staged such affairs as the Senior Reception, the Senior Show, and the Prom. They have also supervised the collection of class dues which made these activities possible. Always available for experienced counsel to the members of the senior class, our advisers have been unstinting in their interest and devotion to our class. Mrs. Edelcreek, Mrs. Meyer, and Mr. Weinstein richly deserve the thanks and gratitude of every graduating senior. Our lardworking advisers preparing for the Senior Reception.

J---------------------u When compared to our average life span, three years seem almost negligible. But these past three years have been the most significant of our lives. During our high school days, we have evolved from frivolous and irresponsible children to mature and conscientious young adults. This evolution was dependent mostly upon ourselves in that we realized our goals and strived to attain our maximum potential. Yet we cannot proclaim to have reached this change entirely on our own. On the contrary, we needed the unselfish help both from our parents and from our teachers. It is evident that during these years, we spent most of our time either in school or with our schoolmates. Therefore, we were fortunate to have a faculty which consciously helped us to establish acceptable patterns of thinking and behavior. Our teachers also provided a sympathetic outlet for the emotional problems which arose during this period of maturation. They shared their experiences and knowledge with us and guided us along the right paths. Our teachers were aware of their responsibility in our development into well-rounded students, citizens and individuals. Fortunately many pleasures accompanied the hard work demanded by the academic life. We made lasting friendship. We participated in athletic activities, and we became part of the spirited student body. Thus in appreciation we, the Class of 1962, dedicate our yearbook to the most memorable three years of our lives, years filled with events and experiences that will never be forgotten. 3
