Hail and Farewell Graduates: You are leaving us today carrying our stamp of approval. We don't mean by this that we are sure you are a finished product. Rather we look upon you as a product that we have had for only a limited time. We have noted progress in your development. We look at you in wonder at times, fearful of your immaturity and unpreparedness, yet aware of your confidence that you are ready for the life beyond the school portals. Your education, formal and extra curricular, is still of high school level. We know you will not be satisfied to remain a “high school kid.” You have a start. Your class rating will tell you how good a start it is. But that is all it is. Your enjoyment of life will depend on your satisfying yourself that you are doing your best in your job. college, home, and church. In all of these things the greatest joy you will get will be from knowing that you are growing. You cannot be satisfied that your are just the man or woman today that you expect to be at 21 or 25. You should expect to grow just as steadily to fifty and over and over.
