PROPHECY As the scene opens it is June 27, 1974. Judelle Sutton, the Parisian model of Dior,s latest creations, is standing outside of the Hobart Arena at Troy, Ohio, talking to the former Joy James, now the wife of the Admiral of the U. S. Navy. They had just been watching an exhibition game of the Harlem Globe Trotters when they discovered that the star of the team was none other than Goose', Brown, their former classmate Keith. flsnit it wonderful what burnt cork can do?j Soon they are joined by Keith and they decide to go to the Crystal Ball Room at Celina, Ohio, which is under the new management of Virginia '4Mill Harbison. On the way they pass Toni Tipple driving her tractor into town for a Saturday night rendezvous. Across the road they see Jeannine Anders slopping the hogs. Passing through St. Henry, home of Beish's iron works, makers of the world's finest log chains, they see Jerry teaching his little links how to make up jokes. Coming into Celina they notice that the water in the reservoir is splashing over the bank. On stopping to ask the reason for this they discovered that Joe Resor is prac- ticing his cannon-ball for the Olympics. They finally arrive at their destination, and upon entering they are seated at a table by the headwaiter Carl Webster. Their attention is drawn toward the center of the floor where 6'Forester,' Randy Witters is giving some tips on outdoor camping by showing how to start a fire with the use of two sticks, one which is, of course, a match. Glancing over the crowd they see Bob 'cWayne Arthur Fulk, the popcorn ty- coon, and his wife, the former Joanne Guthrie, seated at ringside table No. 1. With them is Bill Culbertson, the new mayor of Cincinnati. They are breathlessly awaiting the floor show which stars Sadie Gypsy Rose Lephart and her guitar. Suddenly everyone looks toward the door as Hollywood's latest movie idol, Dick Casanova', Whistler comes in. Following him is his new leading lady, Nancy Current. They walk over to the bar where Bob 'cCougar', Ryan is polishing glasses. He has just recently married the cigarette girl, Kate Smoky Wheeler. Then Wise's Rubber Bandf' under the direction of Gene himself, starts out with a flippy little number dedicated to Elsie', called '6Memories.,' Well look who the singers are: That famous Broadway quartet the Four Spades, consisting of Judy Blankley, Bertie Mullen, Patsy Welch, and Barbara Boggs. After the first number is over, Carmen Miranda Junior, the former Joan Tea- ford, and her dancing partner Arden Cline do the Mexican Hat Dance. fSouth Amer- ica, take them awaylj Hearing a loud noise, the crowd looks around to discover that play-boy Dick Collins is at it again. While everyone is wondering how to quiet him down, the bouncer, who is none other than Carol Shields, comes over and gently shows him to the door. Since it is getting pretty late, Keith, Joy, and Judelle decide to head back for home. On the way they stop for gas at Wilbur Reynold's Hi-Silver Filling Station. They ask Wilbur who the busy little bee is trying to blow tires up. He tells them that itis their old classmate Pat Dillon. He thinks he's an air-pump. As they drive on they see a sign advertising Buckingham's Billiard Parlori' - Bring Your Own Table! Oh-ohl Sounds like a police siren. They forgot about that speed limit. Well look who the copper is-Dave Hufford. That's a lucky break-no ticket, just thirty days in jail! Dave says he,ll let them off, though, if they pay his way into the new skating rink just up the road. They agree to this and discover that it's The Fraze and Wigger Skating Rinkva-Sailors and Ex-Marines admitted free. Just to show that they're good skates they all decide to go in. Inside they see their old classmates l.inda Turner and Ruth Smith, now the skating instructors, trying to teach Jack Potter how to skate. After a couple of times around the floor, they all jump in their cars and head for home, ending a memorable and hilarious day.
