We, the Class of 1953, met at the beginning of the school year, with our sponsor, Miss Mabel E. Ward, and elected the following of- ficers: Charles Stull, president, Patty Jo Wright, vice-president, Marilee Mangas, secretaryg Phil Weida, treasurer, and student council representative, Sara Farish. Early in October we received our class sweaters, royal blue and grey, trimmed in gold. On November 4, the Sophomore Class held the Harvest Hop which entertained the entire high school. We also helped the Mothers' Club with decorations and a section of the program for the Christmas Par y. We are proud to have many of our members participating in band, orchestra, mixed chorus and girls' glee club, baseball, basketball, track, bowling, and G. A. A. Next year we will be Juniors! We are looking forward to that honor with much pleasure.

As the Junior Class of '52, we started our year out by electing class officers. They are William Westfall, president, Don Gullett, vice presidentg Beverly Stilts, secretaryg Joyce Midlam, treasurer. The student council representatives are William Bower and Shirley Lees. On September 27, 1950, we became the proud owners of our class rings which we ordered early last spring. The members of the class are well represented in band, orches- tra, rnixed chorus, and girls' glee club. Many of the boys are members of intramural and the Wildcat and Kitten teams. Our class is under the excellent sponsorship of Miss Anna C. Yost, who has cooperated in helping to plan for the selling of Christmas door-hangers, Wildcat sweat shirts, and U. H. S. socks. We close the year with our Junior -Senior reception and our class play in May.

The Class of 1954, consisting of forty-six members, began the Freshman year by meeting with Miss Brady, the sponsor, and electing the following officers: Dick Whistler, president, Robert Fulk, vice- president, Jeannine Anders, secretaryg Joe Resor, treasurer, Jack Potter, member of the student council. The class has a representation of 17 members in glee club, '7 members in mixed chorus, 17 members in band, 8 members in orchestra and 6 members on the Kitten basket- ball team, with Jack Potter as assistant manager. Other Freshmen participate in bowling, baseball and track. Before the end of the year, class colors were chosen, sweaters were ordered, and various activities to make money were sponsored by the class.. The Class of 1954 hopes to play an important part inthe success of West Side High School.
