WESTERNER This year the Westerner was printed weekly in the Times Gazette. Halt a page was devoted every Wednesday to the school publication. During the first semester the paper was edited by the Iournalism Class. lt was published by a Volunteer statt during the last semester. Both publica- tions Were under the direction of Miss Addie Lou Hinant. BOWLING Ten pins were knocked from the hardwood on October I5, which marked the opening ot the U. C. H. S. bowling season under the sponsorship ot Mr. Ralph Grimme. Otticers elected were Roberta Reid, president, and Marilyn Temrne, sec- retary. Forty-eight participants made their debut in the form ot twelve teams. The bowler taking high average for the boys was Bob Welch with IB4-3 and Marilyn Temme tor the girls with l26f2I. Holding second place for the boys was Emory Bothast with ISZ-IU and Rhea Buckingham lor the girls with I26-IQ, The season came to a close with the Solid Senders on top and the Slick Chicks coming in for a close second.
