SubfDelns l.ast spring officers were chosen to lead the club during the 1943--1-1 school year. They were Kathryn Montano. l'resident: Carol Cernon. Yiee President: l.ois l,antz, Secretary: and Phyllis llothast, Vl'l'Q1l5'l1l'Cl', On 'lanuary 13th the Mothers' Club gave a tea and booli review for the Sub-Debs, and in May the Sub llebs reciproeated by entertaining their mothers at a special meeting. To earn money. the club held a rummage sale on April ZZ. ,Xt the end of the school year. an award was given to the out- standing senior girl by the club. Bowling The High School llowling' 1.eag'ue was brought to a successful close Mons day evening, March 6. Under the capable guidance of Don Neforlcle, presi- dent. and -lim King, secretary. the league had an enjoyable season-a season which saw snmC good bowling and some bad bowling. but nevertheless there was much fun. By staging a garrison finish, johnny l1arth's team tied Stewart's team and then won the play-off game In carry off the league championship. Nice go- ing, Fuzzy ! The final standings were: XYon l.ost llarth 26 13 Stewart 25 14 Jefferies Z1 17 XVhistler 18 217 King' - 16 22 Frazier 15 25 It is hoped that interest in the popular pin sport will remain high and that another season of maple busting will be in the ofhng for next year. The priniary purpose of the Student L oiiiieil's reiiistating this tourney was to raise money for the Red Cross drive: liowever the enthusiasm aroused for inter-high school competition was so lieen that it was decided to continue the event this year. lVitli the liaslcetliall season for '-l-l ended, the high seliool classes began Uv liuzz with plans for the second annual elziss tourney. Decorations went up and all teams' hopes were higli. Finally the gg'reatex'e1ittook place on Klareli 7. The sophomores decisively defeated the seniors for the first win uf the day. In the second ganie the treshmen were overwlielnied by the liroeer juniors. The seniors regained El parcel of their dignity by earryiiig' will the eonsolation game. XYlien the linal whistle had sounded, it was a deserving' junior team that took possession of the Dig Brown lug. The Little llrown lug, award for the runner up, was claimed hy the soplioinnres.
