STUDENT COUNCIL After a week of vigorous campaigning the stu- dents elected Stan Johnston to the office of Stu- dent Council President. With the co-operation of all the Student Coun- cil Representatives, the year '57-'58 proved to be a success. Such proiects as Parents' Day, selecting records for the iuke box, sponsoring the sale of school jackets, deciding the dress for the P.T.A. dances, selling cushions at the football games, arranging for the individual pictures to be taken, sponsor- ing a Sadie Hawkins Day and a Dress-up Day, taking responsibility for the sale of Booster Tickets, issuing certificates to those on the Honor and Distinguished Honor Rolls, and presenting an Assembly program were undertaken by the Coun- cil. Whatever the iob, large or small, we con- gratulate the Council for their enthusiasm and determination to make our school better. President . .. .. A CAPPELLA CHOIR The A Cappella Choir, under the direction of Mr. L. P. Williams, has completed an outstanding year of musical activities. The Choir's first appearances were made in December when the annual Christmas program was presented to the P.T.A., repeated for the student body, and telecast over WHP-TV. Our very capable Mixed Ensemble sang in the halls of the high school each morning during the week before Christmas, presented programs for the Lemoyne Civic Club and the grade schools of the iointure, and participated in County Chorus. In March, the operetta, The Pirates of Penzance was presented by the choir and was a huge success. The climax to the choir activities of the year was the long-awaited choir banquet.
