CLASS HISTORY e c of Lex oyne 1 yx1 1 September 4th rn the yelr nrnetecn hundred md fifty one 1 group of hardy young Tro j1ns began to clrmb Mt Iiducatron For our gurdes on the first part of our journey xxc chose Don Shoyer presldent Thelma Gra h1m wee presrdent Ann Conley secretary 1nd Alys Conrad treasurer XVe turned our laces toward the top 1nd began our ascent Each member of the party led a p1ck donkey mth books carryrng mformatron yxhrch had to be mastered before the end of our clrmb The ascens on became more drfhcult and for s1fetys sake vxe were bound by 1 strong rope of fI'lLI1dSl1lP and loyalty We chose as colors for our banners blue and vyhrte our Hover the Amerrcm Beauty Rose and our motto Truth rs the greatest of chosen urtues For relaxatron on the first quarter of our journey vse spon sored a Freshman Party It vsas the first one by all M ack W Ray our class dean conducted our class meetings Wfrth hrs help xxe selected 1 moyre for our assembly pro ram September 3 1952 1fter a short pause tor summer yac1t1on vue resumed our journey up Mt Education lor thus part we elected one nevs leader Dune Bowman secretary The former othcers once again assumed therr posltrons of leadership Our Sophomore Party was a huge suc cess and every member of the cl1ss had an excellent evenmg Wrtlm the ard of Mr ohn E Behman class dean ue once more took the mrtratrve and began 1 tradrtron ln our school It was that of ordermg our class rmgs rn our Sophomore ye1r and recerxrng them rn the yery first part of our unror year For our assembly program thus year me chose .1 yarrety shovc rn xxhrch the students partrcrpated mth the customary cooperatron After 1 second xery profitable year at XVest Shore Hrgh School we stopped by the may srde for a rest September 2 1955 refreshed by 1 sum mer yacatlon the Class of 55 contrnued 1ts chmb toward success Ag11n vse elected 1 nevs othcer n1mely ack Rhoads The ewcperrenced leaders and our new yrcepresr dent led us safely oyer rocks crexasses and other l1217llClS that threatened to separate us Proudly vse clrsplayed our shrnmg golden class rlngs Wxth these momentoes on our hands we began our money makrng projects In the fall vle sold refreshments at the foot ball g1mes In the sprrng vse managed the operett1 and recened one half of the pro ceeds On Aprrl 9 the unlor P1rty was held rn the gym xxrth the Spartans of Hershey proudrng the muslc The Problem of the Prrated P1nafore drrected by Mrss Inz1 C Bentz was our contrrbutlon to the school rn another assembly program On the dreamy eyenlng of May 1 vue spon sored the highly successful un1orSen1or Prom It vxas held IH the Hershey Hotel ballroom yxrth Frank Taylors orchestra Another hrghlxght ln our thlrd ye1r yyas the unlor Class Trip to Gettysburg Thrs proyed to be educational as vsell as relaxing By the end of our unxor ye1r vse began to sadly realrze that vse had only one quarter of our journey left It vcas September 7 1951 Nothrng seemed so Important as the begmnrng of our Semor year' Excxtedly we agam started our pack donkeys on thclr continued chmb They didnt mind for the load of books didnt seem nearly so cumbersome All the former offlcers were re elected and an assrstant sec retary o Ann Trout joined them The xyork on our yearbook had already been started by Richard Wfolpert echtor under the superusron of Mr Paul E Stum dean so ue began makmg money to oftset In thc 'rty' Arr ' 1, on .
