GIRL'S BASKETBALL Q-...W lst Ross Cook Kimmel, Schwartz Brevsen Hornberger Lelgler Vlaulfalr, Baldwin Graham Bowman 2nd Rovs Conrad Weary Shearer Brlckley Bently Searer, Dysert Nolan, Zimmerman 'Vhss Mary E Jones, Coach GIRLS BASKETBALL Again the gnrls basketball team proved to us that thetr spirits were not to be undaunted Each and every moment of thelr games was hlghly exc1t1ng Thls could not be lf the girls wouldnt live up to the ideals and clean sports manshlp that Mlss Jones the coach lmparted to her team This team of lassxes and thelr capable coach deserve the commendatlon and constant encouragement whlch was shown BOILING SPRINGS The Vlest Shore High girls basketball season got under way when they played Bollmg Springs on December 4 Although the lassles were trallmg during the enttre game the Bubblers dld not Wm an easy victory The final score was 38 29 1n favor of Bolling Sprtngs DILLSBURG December 15th found the gurls traveltng to Dnllsburg where the varslty met a 21 24 defeat but the Junlor Varsity came through w1th a smashmg 19 to 8 vlctroy HUVIMELSTOWN For the first league game ot the year the gtrls met the Hummelstown Bulldog at Hummelstovwn where the Lassxes lost by a crushing 51 33 score AI UMINI After three defeats the squad met a determined Alumm on the home court The Trojan SIX were leading in the first and third quarters and won by a margln of 28 27 LOVE ER PAXTON The Lower Paxton Rangers were the second league op ponents of the season After trailing by 1 3 4 pomts 1n the respective quarters the lassles were edged out ln a 28 27 defeat ENOLA In the most exclting game of the season the Vl est Shore g1rl TroJans gave the Enola six the1r first conference loss Vlest Shore was leadmg by one basket m the first quarter but at the half the score was 27 19 IH fawor of the- Panthers The thxrd quarter showed the TroJans were behind by 11 points But the lassxes were determined to Wm and the scoreboard showed a 46 46 tie at the end of the game For two minutes afterwards the air was tense w1th excxtement Joanne Kimmel gave Vlest Shore a 47 46 lead by sinking a foul shot and Lnola rebounded vttth a basket But the reslstance of the Panther girls was not enough to prevent another foul shot and basket to gne the West Shore girls their first league vtctory with a score of 50 48 ' '.Tg-,-,,M.,, ,, . , ,WWW V, t '3 x 'y y v 1 s 1 A ' ' - Q .
