CLASS PROPHECY Then w1th a crashlng of Chevrolets my dream came to an abrupt end as my mother woke me up to go to school I guess Ill never know who we ran 1nto Well th1s cant be because thats how my dream began I xemember my father was trvxng to teach me to dr1ve and I ran 1nto Petes car The mechanxc Pee Wee Foster came over from Baers Buxck Servlce Slnce the five oclock traff1c began I halled Barbara Kzrkpatrzck Jean Dzsney Phyllzs Shellenburger and Nancy Rztter commg home from Snyders Incorporated Secre tarlal Servxce to take me to Carlene Hornbergers Soda Shoppe wh1ch was rlght bes1de Kalmn Walters Ta1lor Shop bes1de Fazlors Frult Stand bes1de Eastons Plumb1ng Supplles on the ground floor of the Kennedy Enterpr1se Bu1ld1ng to drown my troubles ln a double malted Jo1n1ng me was housew1fe Jean Delduca who told me that Dr James Black just dellvered tr1plets to Barbara Hayden On leavmg the shoppe I met Conme Graham Guen Fznkey and Lucy Romzg 1ust home from college I went home to watch John Thomas Varxety Show The first performance was by Betty Wolfe, Queen of the Spr1ngboard Then Dave Pretz spht our sldes w1th an lmpersonatxon of Marr lyn Judge Next Janet Bowman Joann Bzshop Bonnze Stum Darlene Stephens and Joan An derson sang We re Just Two Llttle Glrls from Steelton After an appreclatlve applause for th1s last act came Mary Jane Kretzzng play1ng George Barkers Flfth Symphony 1n A flat M1nor accompan1ed by Charles Spangler on hls harmonlca Thls was followed by John Hermans Jazz Quartet of Spzder Branyon on the Saxaphone Chunk Anspach playlng the drums Lefty Adams on the sllde trombone and Crazy Herman on the steammg trumpet J o1n1ng the quartet was Pat Stone smgmg popular melodles Just as the program was fimshed the door bell rang and upon opemng the door I encountered the 1nsurance man Larry Sezgford who told me of a strange case It seems Pattz A Grove left her shoes 1n the axsle of Ray Lztman s movxe theater Com1ng up the a1s1e Peggy Irvm trlpped and spra1ned her ankle Norm Mazsel and Barry Snoke took her to the movxe nurse Pat H Grove rn the back of the theater Durrng th1s talk I was mterrupted by a phone call from telephone operator Bonnre Kugler who told me that housewxfe Patsy Lauclenslageer has been try1ng to call me all morn1ng but town gOSS1p Mary Auxer has been burnlng the w1res all mornlng talk1ng to Yvonne Stephens who has Just returned from Europe After finlshmg my talk w1th Patsy I looked out the wmdow and saw C1ty Polxcemen Deaner Acrz and Charles Snyder talk1ng to C1ty Manager Karl Heckert who I ve heard IS try1ng to crack down on the Bloommgdale and Mzller Modern Art Exhlbxt Smce almost half the day was gone I declded to break the bad news to my father about the damage done to the car That IS when I woke up Hey Margle do you thmk we could use th1s for the class prophecy?
