The date, January 23, 1954, will never be forgotten as a most memorable evening of our Senior year. I'm glad I kept my fingers crossed before this date, because luckily it didn't snow. Even though a few of us sort've missed Allenberry and went to Carlisle. we finally arrived-'tBetter late than never. Oh, and the food! All the fellas had seconds and thirds-it was so delicious. Of course, diary, you might know, Nancy Ritter, tripped down the stairs amid the laughter of Patti, Carol and Peggy. In as much as we, the students, anxiously anticipated this event, diary, the faculty enjoyed themselves immensely dancing to the music of Will Fisher's Orchestra. Every now and then as you would be dancing you'd see a flash in the room. But it was just Mr. Shahian, our photographer, taking pictures. Diary, it's well past my bed time tonight and even though we will participate in other activi- ties the Senior Ball will always hold an everlasting niche in our hearts. It is very early in the morning and I am so weary so- Goodnight. MARGIE 'J rl NWEM xt 4. Q- K 1 'xx' QYIQ qQx?xgfg,g1. Y ,M 1 A Q, X H55- WP: N eff s. This was the first largest money-making effort for the labors of this commit- tee. The success of their Junior Play can be fully accredited to Miss Inza C. Bentz, Class Dean. An An- thony Arms play, it was entitled 'Rack the Gypperf' presented to an enlightened student assembly on February 3rd. Their annual class party and Gettysburg trip were the main highlights of this Junior year. Since the operetta, Captain of the Guard was presented this year in the '54 season, these hard-working students helpfully solicited the many ads for the production. Fifty-four marked the first year in which the Sophomores selected their class rings. For their assembly pro- gram they brought to us four stu- dents from Dickinson College in Car- lisle. Two of them were exchange students from Switzerland and Ger- many and they told about the cus- toms of their country and their im- pressions of the United States. The other two were exchange students from the United States to Germany. They also told of their experiences. Highlighting the Sophomore year was their party on March 12th in the gymnasium with music by the ever- present juke box and delicious re- freshments. These were the gals who nearly froze during football season to strut in the band front. Their new uniforms gave them that added spark of enthusiasm which so wittingly ignited the students. Joan Anderson and Grace Baer were the Senior color guards who strutted so proudly at football games an in the annual Thanksgiving Balloon Parade in Harrisburg. Besides Darlene Dickman having the importance of leading the band in her beautiful snow-white costume, she also was chosen as Halloween Queen to reign over Lemoyne's first Halloween Parade. Doing her tricky routines on the field, Connie Viguers, as head majorette, gave to our band front the added spirit. The wish of all our Senior band front members is that you also may share the hap- piness and favorable comment which they hold. ' , -. W q f X gg 0 O 6 JK A72 X N Z X s '9J If N Q. Only to provide a little spirit to the various sports' teams was the sole purpose of the cheerleaders. This wondrous squad also furnished us with the dances after basketball games, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. New yells, 'catchy' outfits, and an ever-ready smile, best describes the capability of our cheerleaders. Although these four Senior Cheerleaders-Mary Auxer. Captaine: Connie Graham. Daryl Hoar and Jean Maugans, are leaving in body, they leave behind them their everlasting spirit.
