Now come and turn the pages and share wi ur lNIoments to Remember. We the graduating class of West Seneca Central High School humbly and sincerely dedicate the 1956 edition of the Acenes to the faculty for all the undying patience and understanding they have shown during our high school years The teachers of our school take a large part in the molding and building of each 1nd1vidual,s character. We can all be truly grateful that we have had the advan- tage of such an excellent staff To the teachers who have tolerated our excuses and complaints who have tried to teach us to be worth- while citizens to the teachers who have listened to all our problems and have given of themselves so freely we would like to offer our thanks To the faculty, We dedi- cate our yearbook 3 Dedication Board of Education Mr. George Mueller, Mrs. Edward Escliner, Mr. Carl Boltz Cseafedj, and Mr. Ferd Nagel, Mr. David Reese, Mr. Harold Zernentscli, Mr. Clarence VVeifenbach, Qsfandingj, are the interested citizens who form the very active Board of Education. Serving without remuneration, these members are constantly plan- ning for successfully meeting the needs of the students of West Seneca. 4 -gr-+ f Ass'f. Supervising Principal Mr. Walter D. Campbell Supervising Principal Mr. Alfred W. Goodreds Mrs Helen L. Sutton, Senior High School Counselor and bupervlsor. Guidance AT West Seneca The chief approach in this program is counseling individuals, classes, and home room groups. The program is under the direction of three counselors. In the senior high school, individual counseling begins with the opening of school to help students to make decisions and plans for after graduation and to check on major sequences and electives. A second period of counseling in the spring makes a re-check of the same students. Junior high school counseling begins with group work in the citizenship education classes to aid the students to know their school. This type of counseling becomes individual in the late fall and winter to help students to plan their high school cur- ricular and extra-class program. Throughout the year the students are free, even encouraged, to find any kind of necessary help from the guidance office. 2 2 I 6mis. ff Blr Richard Dalmhy Junior High bchool Q ounselor Miss Virginia, E. Our Athletic Program Our athletic program is under the direct supervision of the Physical Education De- partment. Since the students participate in both intramural sports and inter-scho- lastics, our program touches most of the students in the school and for this reason We have not even attempted to capture, in photographs, the intramural program. Our efforts have centered in bringing you the results of our competition With other schools. West Seneca has entered a team in all the inter-scholastic sports and has had a successful program. Even though the teams may not have been the best entered, the members played according to the rules of good sportsmanship and have never failed to give all they had. These are the things that count, not how many games were won. The coaching staff congratulates its GOOD SPORTS. 74 Varsity W Club Row 1: F. Kurtz, F. Smith, R. Earl, R. Totaro. Raw Q: J. Nash, E.
