Lecky, M. Pasternak EVEN of the members of our school hand were chosen to play in the Buffalo Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. They were Paul Rhinehart on bass trombone, Earlene Co sandier on tenor trombone, Nancy Tomchuck on French horn, Karen Leydecker on bassoon, Frank Riga and Paul Drushler on clarinet, and Dorothy Hahn on bass clarinet. A large percentage of our band was selected to play in the All-State Sectional Band and the Erie County Band. The band has elected its officers, who are: President ........... QCII-IE baton twirlers, consisting of 35 girls, perform at football games, parades, and various other events. Un- der the expert direction of Mr. A. Castle, the group has grown to be one of the largest in Western New York and will soon be one of the finest. With leader, Joyce Pletscher, and such fine majorettes as jean Monin, Sylvia Paszkiewcz, Carol Miner, Barbara Aschenbrenner and Mary Lou Baumister, the enthusiastic twirlers not only provide entertainment for others but add to their own enjoyment. 73
