C., on January l0, l953. The club was formed due to the growing inter- est in rifle shooting as a sport in this area. This year the club arranged to use the Cleveland Hill rifle range for all of its firing activity, but the school is constructing a new rifle range in the basement. It is expected this range will be available next year. With these increased facilities the club will be open for membership of bo s and girls in both theJunior and Senior Hi hgchools. Mr. Wesley R. Scott is the Faculty iponsor. Members of the National Junior Honor So- ciety have decorated bulletin boards in the iunior high wing ofthe school, acted as guides for the parents night tour and the sixth grad- ers' open house, sponsored a dinner party and informal initiation for the pledges, and pre- sented an assembly program for the junior high. . . Pina ore J. Henniger, D. Mascia, J. Mamula, B. Glinski, R. Manzella, D. Lillo, J. Mingle, B. Michel, R. Davies, Mrs. Castle, Mr. Castle. After many, many long weeks of rehearsal, W. S. C. produced its first annual operetta, H. M. S. Pinafore. Under the capable direction of Mr. Alfred Castle, the cast was able to present an outstanding performance. Those who had the leading rolls were Ray Davies, Judy Mamula, Rosemary Manzellu, Bill Glinski, Beverly Michel, Don Mascia, and Don Lillo. With only five weeks of preparation, many long and tedious rehearsals were necessary. There was hard work and little play. Excellent cooperation was given by advertising, scenery, and props committees. Mr. Fahey managed the dependable and efficient stage crew. The cast of the operetta was rewarded with tremendous applause and a continual call for encores. Mr. Castle was speechless when Don Lillo presented him with a Bulova wrist watch on behalf of the cast, orchestra, and stage crew. He did an outstanding iob not only with the musical but with the dramatic part of the show. Others who helped with the presen- tation were: Mr. Van Dette, Mr. Zarba, Mr. Picerno, Mr. Peck and Mrs. Castle. Because one presentation did not satisfy the demands of the students and community, next year the operetta will run for two nights. We will long remember the rollicking melodies and rhythms of H. M. S. Pinafore! J. Mingle, J. Henniger, D. Lillo, H. Far rall, J. Backer, D. Priebe, J. Baker, F. Stevens, A. Schroeder, J. Yea, R. Miller, J. Bowes, R. Barrnett, G. Heusinger, C. Amigone, R. Hartung, R. Wilmer, W. Glin- ski, D. Mascia, R. Davies. 11 'W we
