LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF THE CLASS OF 1953 We, the Senior Class of West Seneca Central High School, being of sound mind and body, do hereby declare this our last Will ancl Testament. To the incoming Juniors: The senior boys leave all their old squirt guns, oily dungarees, and their gab corner at the end of the hall on the first floor. The senior girls bequeath their knack of picking up all the newest fads first, their spring fever every fall, and their dog collars. The entire Senior Class donates its ability to dream up new excuses everytime anyone wants to go A.W.O.L. from Study Hall. We the class of '53 bequeath the following: To Mr. Campbell and Mr. Goodreds: Q11 The lifelong gratitude of the '53 Graduates, Q21 A new wing to our school containing twelve rooms to be used by the one club which meets every day at 2:l5, The Detention Club. To the Guidance Department: Q11 The undying appreciation of l50 Graduates, Q21 the stout hearts of 'ISO courageous souls who toiled bravely through four long years of mental and physical exertion. To Mr. Rathke: Three ten-seated helicopters to be used in gathering up all West Seneca's poor little overworked truants. To the Music Department: Operettas as successful as H. M. S. Pinafore for the rest of the school's existence. . To the Science Department: Q11 A collection of sweet scented aromas to revive the students after the shock of the odors which permeate our school daily, Q21 two new ammeters for Nr. Urick's physics classes. To the Art 8. Design Department: One midget blast furnace for firing pottery, and a new pail for the students. To the Mathematics Department: Ql1 A detention room especially for Mr. Vance's after-school iunior mathematicians, Q21 a new mechanical pencil to figure out Mr. Urick's unsolvable problems. To the Physical Education Department: Another trampoline so there will always be one in both the boys' and girls' gyms and a pogo stick to get on them, Q21 teams as successful as the ones this year. To the Driver Training Department: Q11 Sponge rubber telephone poles, curbs, and signs all through the town of West Seneca, Q21 more machines inthe Driver Training Room which will frighten any knowledge of driving out ofthe pupil's mind so Mr. Daly and Mr. Harbison may begin at the beginning. To the Language Department: 'A new language - - Urdu. To the Social Studies Department: Q11 As a change of temperament, all unemotional students in the Problems of Democracy class, Q21 world peace so that there won't be any mare history classes or history books. To the English Department: We will confiscate all copies of Hamlet, Julius Caesar, and Macbeth. As replacements we will leave Tallulah Bankhead's autobiography, True Story Magazine, and A Street Car Named Desire. To the Industrial Arts Department: Ql1A i909 Ford motor they can take apart and hope to put back together. To the Health and Biology Department: Q11 An unceasing supply of frogs to dissect, Q21 one bottle of Sweet Air to dispel the odor of formaldehyde. To the Commercial Business Department: Q11 Automatic devices on the typewriters to make corrections, Q21 colored paper to break the monotony. To the Home Economics Department: Q11 An anchor to be placed on pins, needles, and scis- sors to keep them from miraculously floating away, Q21 discontinuation of all Boys'l lome Economi ics ClClSS9S, as boys are not supposed to cook better than girls do.
