Along with their neighboring rivals from the Erie County UAW League were teams from Niagara and Chautauqua Counties. West Seneca, well represented by the quartet of Goodreds, Groff, hotak and Werschin, placed third among such qualified clubs. A great honor was bestowed upon both school and individual when Art Goodreds stroked at 9b to place fifth in this keenly contested tournament and received one of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association awards and became the first athlete to win such a coveted award in the history of West Seneca Central High School. At Sheridan Golf Club on June l3, 1950, all the representatives of the Erie County HAH League took part in the Medal Tournament. West Seneca placed fourth with a five man total of h76.
