e.PiW., Math Club is composed of students who gain an increase to their knowledge of math and the field of science. Their prd- gram is enriched on the subiects of science and math and the number system by speak- ers and movies. Many ot the students in school this year had growing interests in science study. Hav- ing the opportunity to study more about the subiect through many interesting ex- periments and fascinating observations took an interest and participated in the Science Clu . 1 The Science Fiction club had some very interesting meetings this year, discussing with the physchotintinabulation section, subiects such as Can a particle travel faster than light or Bridy Murphy rides again. ' The group had spasmodic meetings and very interesting topics of discussion. Chess Club was a small, but very active group. It met every Thursday and has won the '58 All-City Chess League competition for West Seattle.

Business managers gave assistance in managing the business end for our school productions, like the Pow Wow, Senior Play, and Coral Concerts by keeping requisi- tions of money intake and correspondence of responsibilities. ins-4 The success or failure of our stage pro- ductions and assemblies rests with the work of Stage Crew. The boys in the group worked out of their study halls on lighting and scenery effects, on material shifts and scenery changes in production. F.T.A. inspired students to look into the career of teaching. At the various meetings, plans for college were made, speeches were presented, and talks were given on many phases of teaching.

if g s Moccasin Club consisted of the students in West Seattle who were affiliated with the work of the library. They sponsored many interesting and educational activities throughout the year in which they inspired more constant and careful use of our li- brary. li., 4,,,vi' The girls interested in doing something with their acquired knowledge of clothing, tailoring, and foods, other than every day school work, could have been found partici- pating in various activities of Home Ec. Club which they offered to the entire female population of W. S. at various times during the year. Increasing interest was shown in Ski Club this year. It was certainly a growing club due to the increasing interest in Satur- day skiing. Most of the participants in Ski Club spent Saturday of their weekends in Ski Schools at Summit or Ski Acres. The chief activity of Debate Club was problem-solving discussions with other High Schools on topics such as: irrigation, edu- cation, and foreign relations. This organi- zation gave students an opportunity for discussions and transmitting of ideas other than in school activities.
