Promotes Cultural Reviewing a French record album-Jane Cullmann, Joanne Miller. Betsy Hussa. Marcia Zantow, as Edna Mae Kroger, and cltorun line beauties Toni Wein-garter and Dave Crawford model fashions at the 1967 French Dance. Goals As a culmination of six months’ fund-raising activities, seventeen French Club girls journeyed to Expo ’67 in June. With the achievement of $1,000 goal, the club paid transportation costs for the train trip to Montreal, Canada. Touring pavilions, conversing in French with natives, swimming and shopping proved to be unique and challenging for the members. Annual activities of Le Cercle Francais include an Epiphany celebration on January 6, an April dance, and a spring banquet. Le Cercle Francais strives to promote interest in French language and culture in school as well as in the community. Membership eligibility requires one year of classroom French. FHA-Varied Experiences, New Interests Enjoying a very active year, the West Salem FHA Chapter promoted “Good Citizenship” in school and community. The year began with the installation of new officers and continued to be busy with many fun and meaningful activities, including demonstrations, dances, teas, and rallies. FHA members and their guests found themselves transported to beautiful Hawaii for their annual spring banquet and style show. In the setting of Sugar Plum Mountain, palm trees, and ocean surf, the girls greeted their audience with “Aloha to Fashions” and modeled their own creations for all to admire. In June 1967 four representatives Pam Millard, president; Lynette Mc-Clintock, vice-president; Gloria Wuensch, chorus representative, and Theresa Hall seeking the position of editor in District Ill-attended the State FHA Convention at Greenlake, Wisconsin. This year marked the twenty-first birthday of the organization. The Convention program stressed the importance of making our adulthood years ones of success and fulfillment. Under the direction of Mrs. Roberta Severson, the club installed 14 members and hosted a lovely all-school Christmas tea. Theresa Hall represented La Crosse FHA celebrates their coming of age as they light twenty-one candles of success- County in the Wisconsin Dress Revue Rachel Mulder, Debra Gilbertson, Sally Silha. at the Milwaukee State Fair.
