Officers and advisors looking over the agenda of the next meeting: Miss McGarty, Darlene Stratman, Patty Storandt, Mr. Monson. Jon Schuster, Fritz Balmer, and Mr. Linse Learning to speak well is the main purpose of the Forensic Club. To carry out this objective, work and fun are combined. In the spring, speaking contests are held in the following divisions: humorous and non-humorous declamations, original and non-original oratory, extemporaneous reading and speaking, four-minute speeches, and interpretive reading. The American Legion also sponsors a Constitution speech contest. In the fall of '54 Patty Storandt and Mary Schomberg brought honors to the club by placing first and fifth, respectively, in the District Voice of Democracy contest. The advisors are John Monson, Robert Linse, and Alice McGarty.
