Council Renders School Service Twelve students, three representatives e-lected by each class for a term of one year, compose the student council. Leading the 1955-1956 council were Clarence Pittenger , president; Bob Shaw, treasurer; and AdreannaStrittmater, secretary. The advisors were R. B. Tremain and Horace H. Moran. As the governing board of the high school student body, the council's activities include management of student elections, setting up the noon hour recreation, and contributing to the support of community projects such as the polio fund drive. Four members from our group attended the State Student Council Convention at Green Bay and the entire organization participated in the Coulee Conference Meet at Melrose this school year.

Librarians Maintain Efficient Standards The WestSalem Library Club, supervised by Marie B. Sanders, is a hard working group devoted to serving fellow students and faculty. Special project for the year was the annual observance of Good Book Week. Social activities included the pinning ceremony honoring seniors and head librarians as well as field trips to the Sparta book display and to the Bill Martin, Jr., author program at La Crosse. ROW 1.
