A startling discovery was made by Bonnie Buol this week. In her research while performing her duties as medical technologist at Munich, Germany, she discovered a new type of shoes that walk by themselves. This provides effortless walking by the wearer. Carol Bahr, well known chicken raiser, has now succeeded in raising a breed which lays colored eggs for Easter! Mechanical minded Marvin Hesse has just sold the patent for his motorless car to one of the leading auto manufacturers. Doris Beier, private secretary to a business executive, has accomplished a feat which has never been successful before. She can take dictation with one hand and type it with the other. As the evening draws to a close, we join in singing our fight song, On West Salem, and conclude this reunion with a harmonious chorus of our class song written to the tune of The Halls of Ivy” Melody Time” Oh, we love the halls of Salem, that surround us here today, And we will not forget them when we're far, far, away. To the cherished halls of Salem, our voices bid farewell. But memories of our school days here will linger still. We cheered with all our might, to help our team to fight; And, win or lose, we'd hold them for our own. We sang and played and danced, and sometimes we romanced And sadly now we part afar to roam. From the friendly halls of Salem, where we've worked and had our fun We take our leave with fond good-byes to everyone. Oh, we'll miss the halls of Salem that we sadly leave behind, But the fondest memories of them will live in each mind. To the helpful halls of Salem our voices bid farewell. Their teaching will inspire us with its lingering spell. We gratefully commend, each teacher as a friend. Their recollections fill our hearts with joy; From schoolmates we depart, our separate ways to start, And hope the best for every girl and boy. So the friendly halls of Salem, where we've worked for what we know, Will evermore inspire us with their friendly glow. 15 SirVU),
