The band received a large trophy at the Rotary Convention; second in the District Music Contest which was held at Bridgeport, Illinois, last April. The soloists and ensembles received first and second ratings as follows: First Cornet, Clayton Brant; Second Trombone Solo, Verla Smith; Clayton Brant, Don Couch, Willard Lemke, and Verla Smith, second for a Brass Quartet. Clayton Brant received a one plus in the State Tournament.
