The tradition of excellence, passed on to you by your predecessors, embodied the virtues of hard work, dedication, team work and respect. You have done much to perpetuate this legacy and you have further enhanced our reputation — “Westie” is the “School of Champions.” Webster defines a champion, as an individual who protects another person or defends a cause — one who soars above all of the competition. Such noble qualities have helped you to recognize the basic human dignity in every individual. Personal¬ ly, I feel very proud to have played a small part in nuturing this compassionate awareness. Now, as you leave us, let the champion in each of you emerge; so that you will achieve individual success and hap¬ piness. Also, never forget that a real champion defends the less fortunate, and strives unselfishly to improve the life of his neighbors. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!! 14 wmmAmrn Mr. John Gearin We, the members of the Class of 1986, dedicate our yearbook to Mr. John J.
