Headmaster’s Message to the Class of 1985 Donald Pellegrini It is with great pride that I offer you, the Class of 1985, congratulations and best wishes. However, it is important to know that the task that lies ahead of you is a difficult one, and you will encounter many obstacles along the way. The industrial age, as your parents knew it, is all but over and the age of in¬ formation is upon us. We are surrounded by change in the form of high technology, telecommunications, robotics, microelectronics, and on and on. This age of information is bringing, and will continue to bring, more knowledge than out present industrial-age-thinking can handle. The miracle of the microchip has cast us into an unknown region; storing and processing at an incredible rate of speed. As a result, the image of tomor¬ row is difficult to project; and the reality of today is one of immediacy . . . filled with fast cars, fast foods, fast music and fast rewards. We must do more than just get by in the present. We must prepare for the future, otherwise today’s satisfaction may become tomorrow’s frustration. Tomorrow is your today . . . embrace the opportunities of this marvelous age of information; use them creatively and logically, so that tomorrow will fulfill your every dreamHI
