There aren’t enough recreation centers In our part of Dorchester. I think Mayor White Ought to build some That’s why you see dudes Who don’t have jobs Just wandering on the streets Bumming cigarettes and money, They may end up robbing One of the many Varieties and groceries. In Mattapan-Dorchester, There’s a rehabilitation center Across the street from me In summers we go there To play football or basketball They always give you A pugnacious look. But it’s only a bluff. I think the area has too many cars, And they use Blue Hill Avenue As if it were The Indianapolis 500, Causing injuries and death. Dorchester-Mattapan are also Missing quite a few houses But I still like living Here in this area. Martin Lewis For the past three years our graduates, though establishing an identity and a tradition at Westie carried With them many rernembrances and accomplishments from “Old Rossie” High. However, such is not the case with you, the class of 1980. Your remembrances and accomplishments are all from Westie, and truly magnificent they are, The tradition that you have established and nurtured and thus, bequeath to future classes is a proud one. West Roxbury High through your hard work, determination, spirit and respect for human dignity has developed a proud and unique character that allows us to stand alone, second to none. You have endured changes, uncertainties, and at times turmoil. Not only have you met these challenges, but you have succeeded in your studies and progressed in your growth. You and I know this has not always been an easy task and the future poses no easier tasks. I am confident, however, that you will face the future intelligently and sensitively. It is with pride that I congratulate and thank the class of 1980.1 await your leadership, for you must now assume your position as a contributing factor to society, Donald Pellegrini r| t Mi .v3 f %i eQBSP ’ ■ : lfi%f®tll „ £ I t m 1 12 13 15 If I leave here tomorrow, Would you still remember me?
