High School News. “Will this article be all right? What shall we use for a fill-in ? Do you know any gossip? What color ink shall we use for the front page? Pass the correction fluid please.” These are typical of the remarks that came from the publication room of the school paper, the West Pointer, this past year. The room was always a hub-bub of activity; for it was here that the grade and high school news, gossip, and other bits of interest were gathered together to form a newspaper. The paper was printed semimonthly and given free to all students and faculty. A highlight for eight members of the staff was the 1949 National High School Press Association Convention held at Lincoln, Nebraska, November 18 and 19. Mr. R. L. Alberding and Miss Evelyn Halla attended as sponsors. Page 30
