We gathered the things that we did in the past, And to print them we've all been so busy, We've created this book with a highway the theme, And a car known as old Turnpike Tizzy. She travels the road from beginning to end, And stops only briefly at places, Where she shows the town and residents, too, And pictures the prominent faces. Through Sportsville we go in our Hsouped-up old crate Where we see an athlete so true. Then to Activityburg with its many divisions From Key Club to Organ Club, too. Though this is our book in a general sense, It's still not enough to disclose The things which are printed deep down inside, The things that the Caravan knows.

DEDICATIOII We the Senlor Class of 1959 proudlv ded1cate thls yearbook to Mr E Ohn Thomas a member of the senlor hlgh school faculty After graduatlng from Hanover Townshlp Memorlal Hlgh School Mr Thomas attended Wllkes College where he recelved h1s Bachelor of Sclence degree He later earned h1s Master of Educatlon degree at The Pennsvlvanla State Unlverslty He served h1s country durmg both World Vlar II and the Korean War and IS now a major 1n the Unlted States Army Reserves In 1953 Mr Thomas began hls teachlng career at West Plttston Hlgh School and IH the same year he was appolnted asslstant foot ball coach Th1s past year Olle became head coach and under h1s capable dlrectlon the Rams completed a successful season Mr Thomas IS also a busy famlly man He and hls Wlfe are the proud parents of four MR E OLIN THOMAS g1rls Colette Joan Leshe and Alhson He has always been smcerely lnterested IH young people Through lnformal class dlscusslons he IS attemptmg to teach the baslc pr1nc1ples and problems of democracy so that hls students w1ll be better prepared to assume the dutles of cltlzenshlp In appreclatlon of h1s mterest ln us we the 81st graduatlng class of West Plttston Hlgh School dedlcate th1s lssue of the Caravan to Mr E Ohn Thomas 4
