Participating in the Annual Spring Concert, the Eighth Grade Chorus presented such songs as Ah Lovely Meadows, a Czech folk song, The Musi- cal Adventures of Jack and Jill by Sigmund Spaethg and Tic-ti Tic ta an Italian folk song-which were appreciatively received by a delighted audi- ence. During the last few years, We have watched the Senior Band grow, and, in so doing, we have seen its members do their best to maintain high standards Barnes J Miller B Boyd G Carichner This year the band numbered fifty two, with the instrumentation quite complete, one reason why our school can well afford to boast of having one of the best high school bands throughout the valley New members are received annually with a hearty reception by the old ones, and a spirit of splendld co operation prevails 1n the group Constant practices are held during the school year As a result of ever being wllling and ready to render its services, the band has always given a very capable accounting of itself playing faithfully at chapel exercises, P T A meetings, and pep rallies, as well as furnishing the music at the football games and thereby adding greatly to the enthusiasm of both players and spectators. The Annual Spring Concert usually climaxes the years performances. Among the selections presented last May were: Slavonic Dance Ill by Anton Dvorak, Coronation March from The Prophet, by G. Meyerbeer- Orpheus Overture, by J. Offenbachg and Blue Danube W altz, by Johann Strauss The band s success is largely attributable to the able leadership of Mr. Willis T.
