Mr. Charles W. Roland Mr. Roland is Assistant Principal for Educational Services. The class of '63 is the 14th class graduating from West High School. During these 14 years our school population has varied from 1300 to 3200 and has gone up and down as the popula- tion has increased, and new schools were built. In 1949 West High's attendance zone included approximately half of the Phoenix Union Dis- trict. Five other high schools now have this ter- ritory which was once served by West High alone. I'm very proud to be associated with a school which has taken all problems of a growing city in its stride and yet has attained an academic level second to none in every category. Another successful year has been added to the history of West High. While others talk about education, West High continues to demonstrate all that is best in sec- ondary education. Never complacent about past achievements, West High will always be in the van while the student body, the faculty, and the administration continues the splendid coopera- tion of 1962-63.
