'Wa E i This group of fast-stepping musicians love the wide open spaces. Proud of Western's traditions, they march across football fields. Mervyn Rothberg is con- certmeister of these instrumentalists. Our rough-and-ready graduates are Phillip Deputy, Aida Goldstein, Myra Singer, Heather Waldbaum, and Clyde Turner. Ramona Hall leads this unit of marching players through their vari- ous maneuvers, twirling her batons in You re dam tootm Rain or shine, Western's cheering cowgirls, sparked with colorful uni forms, ride out to every football and basketball game. Both Dot Papacon stantinou, the ranch foreman, and Evie Blank, have been with the cheerleaders since they came West. These two girls and their seven partners do a mighty fine job leading the crowd in cheering for our teams. Further proof of their fine Work is shown by the number of Westernites who attend each roundup 1 1, Ten shun 6 a professional manner. Fight West Philly Fight X tit Our Color Guard in traditional or- ange and blue duds, are found strutting their stuff at our football games. Under the leadership of Sergeant Lillian Ay- ton and assistant Mary Ann Bailey, they have shown perfect formation. These cowpunchers must have a C average, and be at least 5' 5 in height. The foreman, Mr. Levin, has done an excellent job sponsoring them.
