ORS If dreams come true, MARY PETRINI will join the ranks of the women in white. When she is off duty, Mary can play the piano, for she likes it almost as much as she likes French, one of her three years honors. Another four years honor student fond of ice skating is MARIE DOUGHERTY. Marie prefers ledgers and journals to test tubes and bunsen burners, for in the near future, she hopes to hold a position as a bookkeeper, at least for a few short years. It takes all kinds of people . . ., and JEAN RAFFAELE is of the efficient folk. Jean wants to do office work after gradua- tion. It isn't strange, then, that a favorite study of her three years honors is secretarial. We all know MARY E. GALLAGHER, author of a clever column entitled Pete Says. Now we introduce her as the four years honor student who thinks that Mathe- matics is much more than a puzzling jumble of numbers. Mary's an all-around student. HELEN SCANLON, President of Class of 1940, leaves with the respect and admiration of Faculty and Students who have found her sincere and unassuming in her devotion to duty. Helen's a three years' honor student. Sugar 'n spice 'n everything nice g that's what AGNES HEAVEY'S made of. Honors for four years have not spoiled her sweet disposition, her spicy wit, and the every- thing nice includes her aptitude for work. West Catholic's own Sir Toby, CATHER- INE DORFF, gave as royal a performance during her two years as an honor student as she did in the presentation of our senior play, Shakespeare's well-known Twelfth Night. DOLORES HUGHES believes a little bit of everything should be studied. Her roster varies from Latin IV to French IIIg from Trigonometry to Glee Club. In these, and English, she's had honors for four years.

X BLUE RI Happy-go-lucky MARGARET E. BOYLE, the girl with the smiling Irish eyes and the infectious grin, spends her spare time talk- ing. Margaret will need this gift, for she is prepared by four honor years for teaching. FRANCES MICKLOS has the intention of using her secretarial training after she grad- uates with credit of three years honors. After lessons are done, Frances settles her- self in a comfortable chair with a good book. MARIE DEVER isn't so vain as she may seem to be. She is only checking on herself to see if she is fully capable of succeeding in the business world, just as she has suc- ceeded in her four years as an honor student. Quietly, MARIE McVEY went about the task of winning three years honors. Marie expects to go to college after graduation. Meanwhile, she is busy with studies, espe- cially Latin, her favorite subject, and reading. Although test tubes and a bunsen burner are ANNA MARIE DONNELLEY'S fasci- nating toys during school hours, she is ever willing to let her keen-bladed ice skates sub- stitute for them. She's another four years honors who's never had to skim on thin ice. Above all things, this wide-awake student thinks that sleeping is an enjoyable way to pass time. Next to this, and three years honors work, MARIE McGLONE likes listen- ing and dancing to Glenn Miller's Orchestra. MARY ELWELUS high ambition is to learn the why's and wherefore's of the nursing profession, just as thoroughly as she has learned the how and what of her five aca- demic major subjects during her four years honors. Honors lead to white caps, Mary. Who would think that our dignified three years honors MATILDA MORGAN de- lights in watching a football game or listen- ing to the broadcasts? Matilda likes to dance, too. No one would have guessed it, Matilda. X-x
