? 3 r 1 English, Speech The Speech classes at West Oso, directed by lVlr. John Meeker, are helping each student to develop bet- ter speaking voiee and to gain self-confidence. During the first semester, the students learn to understand public speechesg during the second semester, they learn oral interpretation of speeches. This year, classes are small so a great deal of at- tention is being given to each student. ' .ff The Senior English classes have been doing more work this year than in the past. Among the things most stressed this year are poetry, writing, reading, research and vocabulary building to help the seniors prepare for college entrance exams. The other English classes are also following the same pattern. More films and recordings are being used to help the students in their research.
