To some, it is a place to secure excuses for absences, tardiness, and dismissal, for others it is a place to be avoided, if possible, for it is here that we are sent for such trivial crimes as being late to class, cutting a class, or taking a one day's vacation when the other students apparently know noth- ing of the holiday. NVQ also go to this famous room for all kinds of questions to which Miss Heslin and Miss Daniels patiently give us the answers. They take messages from Ma who wants us to wear our rubbers, they type our application blanks, they probe our alibies and determine whether or not we shall be sent to Mr. Reimherr or Mr. Taylor.
