This increase in time, how- ver, does not necessarily imply a pro- ortionate increase in the difficulty of he work done. More difficult courses ere taken in the past than at the pre- ent. In fairness it should be said, V owever, that the modern tendency is to ard the practical side,particularly hose subjects that have an apparent and mmediate application.
