Bowser Advisor - Mrs. Whiting Future Teachers The West Muskingum Chapter of the Future Teachers of America became a member of the National F.T.A. organization in the 1968-69 school year. The purposes of the F.T.A. are to acquaint young people with the history, ethics, and programs of the organized teaching professiong to give them practical experience in working together in a democratic way on the problems of the profession and the communityg to interest the best young men and women in teaching as a career, and to secure increased public interest and support of education. This year the F.T.A. 's projects included a bake sale, a pencil sale, and a tea for the teachers and other employees of the school. The officers of Future Teachers are President, Mary Taylor: Vice-President, Janet Caugheyg Secretary, Kathy Bellg and Treasurer, Kathy Brown. F

Sisk Varsity Club The Varsity Club consists of the boys who have lettered in varsity sports and met the requirements of the point system formed by the coaches and members. The lettermen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors, form the backbone of the West sports program. Every year the Club earns money to purchase the Scholar-Athlete Trophy. This is awarded each year to the senior who has lettered in two sports and who has the highest academic standing in the Varsity Club. In the spring a party is given for all Varsity Club members and their guests. Officers this year were Ken Fairall, President: Rick Luman, Vice-Presidentg Dave Lucas, Secretaryg and Tom Harrier, Treasurer.

They are required to pay dues annually and participate in club activities. Under the guidance of Mr. McQueary, the club's programs include service projects, recreation, and discussion of social problems.
