Mr. Helmick, our principal, attends to the disciplinary problems of our school. Mr. Helmick has been a patient, sincere, and en- couraging leader at West Muskingum High School for the past year. I-lis guidance and understanding have demonstrated his interest and concern for the future of West Muskingum's students. Mr. I-Ielmick, in promoting a better school for us, believes firmly that the develop- ment of a sound educational programis essential for protecting and maintaining the future Welfare of Muskingum's students. We are extremely fortunate to have such a competent person as our principal. 6 Mr. Leckrone, our superintendent, is re- sponsible for the supervision and administration of the West Muskingum Schools. Mr. Leckrone is extremely interested in the education of students and in improving and broadening our educational curriculum. His understanding of West Muskingum youth has led us, the students of West Muskingum I-l, S., to recognize his deep dedication. The following statement made by Norman Cousins was printed in the publication known as Clearing House g Education fails unless the Three R's at one end of the school spectrum lead ultimately to the Four P's at the other -- Preparation for Earning, Preparation for Living, Preparation for Understanding, Preparation for Participation in the prob- lems involved in the making of a better world.
