The band was one of three high school bands invited to participate. Throughout the year the Rebel Band was busy raising money for their Mexico trip planned in May. Their visit is expected to be beneficial and enjoyable for all. Superior ratings, as well as all district honors, were bestowed upon the Rebel Band. Proving their number two ranking in the state, Tigers easily handled Rebels throughout the three and one hall' quarters played, with a tough passing and running game. Rebel offense, however, punched out 98 yards on the ground, more than was rushed against Neville in its first three ballgames, although Neville won 32-0. Gene Berry's field goal with three seconds in the third quarter proved powerful enough as West Monroe registered their second district win, this one over Rollon. Defensively Rebs had some prob- lems.
