Q E .Wwe 54- is :F I 0 'KNOW let me tell you. When she says this favorite phrase of hers, one knows it will be something' worth hearing. It may be plans for the senior trip or an explanation to a history question, but, at any rate, when this cap- able orator speaks, many heads turn attentively, careful not to miss a word. She loves and is loved by her students, whom she eases through the in- tricacies of American history, and the seniors, whom she wisely counsels as class sponsor. Also this zealous supporter of school activities spurs her students along the trail of good sportsmanship by being' a good sport herself. The sound of her spry little steps as she hurries along the halls in a tireless effort to promote senior projects will ring forever in the ears of members of the class of 1954. For these reasons, the first Rebelaire of West Monroe High School is fondly dedicated to Mrs. Helen LeFevre. Page 7

The line be- tween failure and success is so fine that we are often on the line and do not know it. A little more persistence, and a little more effort 3 and what seemed to be a hopeless failure may turn into glorious success. There is no failure except in no longer trying. There is no defeat ex- cept from within, no really impossible barrier except our own weakness of purpose. Your loyalty to your school, your spirit of cooperation, your sincerity in your work, your respect and consideration of your fellows express your phil- osophy of life, whether you be genius or otherwise. It is my keen desire that all our efforts may contribute to a better and more satisfying living for all. Each of us shall cherish this, the first Rebelaire, as long as we live. From time to time we shall thumb the pages, reminiscing over events we hold dear. S incerely, P. B. MANGUM. Page 8
