Future Teachers of America Leaders' Club OFFICERS OF LEADERS CLUB President ......... Ed Wozniak Vice-President . . . . Jerry Schmidt Secretary . . . . . Willie Pierce Treasurer . . . . Lewis Wereb Leaders' Club was newly organized this year by Mr. James Marcolivio. The purpose of the club is to referee gym class games, usher for sports events, lead squads in physical education ac- tivities, and help in setting up and taking down gym equipment. The club also helps the instructor establish safe habits in gym. The Future Teachers' movement grew out of the Horace Mann Centennial in 1937, when it was established by the NEA Assembly as a cooperative project of NEA and its affiliated state and local associations. Our high school club is an organi- zation in which the student may explore his own abilities and interests related to opportunities in teaching. A good teacher requires physical vitality, mental vigor, moral discrim- ination, wholesome personality, help- fulness, knowledge, and leadership. All students interested in teaching in grades 10, 11, and 12 may join the club. Carole Landowne is the treasurer and Patricia Kedrick is the secretary.
