SENIOR PLAY HSEVENTEEN IS TERRlFlC On November 22, 1957, the Senior Class presented their play. The play, under the direction of Miss Elizabeth Mitcheltree, concerned raising 35.00, which to young Chuck Allenby, meant a matter of life or death. The cast is as follows: Bill Mercer, as Chuck, had the difficulty of earning the S5 for his girl friend, Joanne Felesky, as Ginny. His father, the dentist, who always worries about his aching feet, Brant Hopper, Grandma, who worries about bringing up her grandchildren, Frances Fisher. Hanna Hawks, the lovesick maid, Roberta Zook. The other teenagers include: George, a bashful sort of kid, tongue- tied over Chuck's pretty sister Barbie, Judy Divens. Nancy, Barbie's cute girl friend, who has a crush on Hugo, Barb Fecik, and Hugo, the sophisticated new boy, Joe Begalla. Patsy, a neighborhood girl, Gloria Gill, Billie, Chuck's brother who plays detective, and Janie Allenby, who has her heart set on being a cheerleader. JUNIOR PLAY THE PERFECT lDlOT The Junior play under the direction of Miss Elizabeth Mitcheltree was presented on April l2, l957, with Judy Divens as its student director. The cast was, Dan, the boy-wonder, hated by his school friends be- cause of his high IQ, was portrayed by Sonny Swartz, his worried mother and father played by Erma Reynolds and Bill Mercer, Dan's younger brother, Jackie, Henry Clinger, Linda who was Dan's girl friend, Judy Opalenik, Linda's father, the high school principal, Gary Eves. Puff, a very athletic boy, who was helped back on the team by Dan, Joe Begalla, his girl friend Carla, Marlene Goodall, Jeannie, a high school student, Christa Thompson, the maid, Rhodora, Myrtle McCall, a soap manufacturer, Mr. Latherby, Jack Wilcox, a newspaper reporter, Miss Booth, Judy Lark, a fussy school teacher with a love for fancy hats, Miss Baker, Frances Fisher, a policeman, Tom Johnson, and the brain specialist, Dr. Hockhorst Van Barf, Jim Ogul. All of these characters made up the exciting play cast of The Perfect Idiot . 54

JUNIOR-SENIOR PROM On the night of May l7, 1957 the Junior class held the annual spring prom for the seniors. Our gym was transformed into a warm, spring garden. Under the sky filled with stars and fluffy clouds of blue, pink, and silver angel hair, the young ladies and gentlemen danced their way through the enchanting night. Music was provided by Cappy Ellison's band until midnight, when the P.T.A. served delicious refreshments. Music till four was provided by Jimmy Hedley and his orchestra. We were entertained by variety acts and a comedian master of ceremonies, At four everyone left, sleepy, but filled with lifelong memories of an enchanted evening. 56
