i A Principals join to make a harmonious WM Mr. Robert Evans Mr. William Reid t the end of the first semester, former principal, Mr. Robert Evans, ended seven and one half years as the first principal of West Mesa. He then took over the new north area school. Mr William Reid, assistant princi- pal from Del Norte, became West Mesa's new head man. With the help of his second semester vice princi- pals, he guided the students through the rest of the year. Mrs. Mildred Faris was responsible for curriculum and faculty. Mr. John Barefoot supervised the 11th and 12th grades, Mr. Armando Velasquez was in charge of the 10th grade, and Mr. Abel McBride for the 9th grade. Experienced superintendents work for AP he administrative staff of Albuquerque Public Schools was headed by Superintendent Mr. Ernest Stapleton. Mr. Stan Rarick asst. area super- intendent and Mr. Robert Montoya north area superintendent were more directly responsible for West Mesa. All these men have been in office for at least two and a half years and have been must make suggestions for allegations of city state and federal funds. Administrators are responsible to the Board of Education whose job it is to re- solve all difficulties and make all final decisions. making decisions that are necessary when new schools are being built. During this year, counselors have helped students in many ways, regis- tering them, giving them their ACT test results and starting a Career program.
