'It was great to represent W Varsity attended the N.C.A. clinic in July. They came home with one outstanding, three ex- cellent and one big blue supe- rior ribbon. They were very enthusiastic about cheering for all sports just as long as they represented West Mesa Mustangs. They spent long hours after school painting signs, advertising games, and assemblies. They also worked very hard in per- fecting their cheers and stunts. West Mesa had the privilege of having the first varsity cheer- leader ever elected as Miss Fire Prevention of New Mexico. Margaret Serna represented them for the year of '73-'74. 2. Some cheerleaders have some time to play as Kim, Doris, and Maragret sit and make snowballs. 3. Maragret Serna displays her trophy for Miss Fire Prevention. 4. Varsity presentes Queen Kim Easley with the traditional mega- phone. 240 Organizations
