Staff members attend workshops, learn techniques for successful book Publication of the El Chicote demanded much time and effort, as staff members worked after school, Saturdays, and holidays to meet deadlines. The production of the yearbook in- cluded writing copy and captions, designing layouts, and assigning and cropping pictures. The staff worked under the guidance of Mrs. Jaramillo, sponsor, with the help of Susan Bosl, editor, and Cheryl Sayed, assistant editor. At the beginning of the year, staffers attended workshops to learn new ideas and techniques to aid them in producing the El Chicote. Success of the 1971 El Chicote was possible through the efforts and cooperation of all staff members. Filling out cards for the index is Patsy Silva, while Connie Barclay chekcs and alpha- betizes the completed cards. I I Clare Gallegos strikes a favorite pose while writing copy for an organization. In addition to its annual Christmas Concert and other regular concerts, the orchestra has preformed in the District Seven Music Festival together with other schools.
