Members of the WM Chapter of DECA were active in a number of projects for the benefit of the community, the school, and DECA. ,Their main project was during Christmas when they collected canned goods and about S100 for the community. Senior DECA members are fleft to rightj Bill Baker, Sylvia LOPCZ, Billy Apodoca, Freida Solano, Eric Chavez, Mr. Ken Logan. DECA provides for needy, OEA members sell glitter plaques Members taking part in all club activities ffront rowj Shirley Roche, Marilyn Chavez, Eileen Pacheco. fback rowy ' Tim Proffitt, Peggy Wilhelm and Emest Carillo. Development of leadership qualities, interest in office occupations and apprecia- tion of civic and social obli- ations are the purposes of the Office Education Associa- tion. The club is designed to help further experience in the sec- retarial field. Members are given the opportunity to com- pete in state and national con- tests in areas such as typing, shorthand, and bookkeeping. The sale of glitter plaques raised considerable money to help people take part in these contests. Practicing their secretarial skills are fseatedj Christal Franz, Jeanette Vigil, Linda Knudson, Joanne Duree. fstandingj Jodeen Romero, Beverlee Ball, Marvin Sanchez, Viola Gonzales, and Lynn Mason. Nancy Oberleltner sect treas Lou Ann Bigney, vice pres and Glenn Garvin pres discuss new business. Honor Society establishes scholarship fund Honor Society has been successful in terms of actual achievements during 1970-71. They have established a scholarship fund that will provide future seniors with financial aid to the college of their choice. A movie was sponsored to raise money for this project. They have also negotiated with the administration for the establishment of a Free Opinion Forum. Most of all, membership in NHS has doubled. To belong to the WM Chapter, stu- dents must first have an overall 3.25 grade average. The faculty then rates them on the basis of service, char- acter, and leadership. their picture taken. Loaded down with books from the library, Suzanne Zuris, Larry Smith, Joyce Fritts, John Martens, Cyndy Beck, Georgianne Baca, Christal Franz, and Ellen Carpenter stop to have Pausing a few minutes before going to science class are Gwen McFatridge, Tolbert Feather, Clay Means and Chuck Weidman. Other members are Dora Gabaldon, Gerald Garcia, Mary Green, Janis Gruber, Mark Higgins, -- Roderic Sanchez, Brian Kem, John Morschauser, Micky Members are Dee Ann Mulcahy, Carolyn Centeno, Doris Hiebert, Linda Ross, Sally Shoats, Henery Tamura, Eugenia Wallace, Leonard, Lynn Mason, Leola Floren, Laurie Rowe, Carol Baca, Mike Rico.
