Promoting service projects occupies time of council Elected as Student Council officers are Mickey Ross, presidentg Bill Dow, vice-presidentg Mei Hua Lindstrom, secretaryg Karlan Gamble, parlimentariang and fnot shownj, Joe Barela, treasurer. Backing and promoting projects in- troduced by council members and other school organizations occupied much of the time of Student Council. Their first project was selling West Mesa and Mustang decals at the begin- ning of school. Projects that followed included Home- coming, Twirp Week, and the Beauty and Beast contest. In January, Penny Wednesday was started to collect money for nextyear's foreign exchange student. Collections were made on a donation basis with the homeroom which contributed the most receiving a prize. Activities discussed during meetings concerned the closing of the snack bar, the seating of students and press mem- bers during basketball games, sand- ing the patio benches, and many others involved with student welfare.
