NJ ROTC's 'best dressed' boys straight from a hippie colony added much to the hilarity at the first 'Fall Round-up' before a large audience in the gym. Mustang Day festivites highlight month of October Along with other activities during October was the beauty of the Mus- tang Day Assembly and the dance. This was the first year for C-team cheerleaders. Six freshmen out of twelve finalists were chosen. The Duke City Karate tournament was held in the boys' gym to raise money for the freshmen class. A pep rally one day at which the Pom Pom girls performed a routine broke the monotony of school. The spirit jug, an innovation this year, is used by Lorraine Zamora to signal the student body when to yell and when to be quiet. Leading roles in the hit drama Harvey are taken by Patty Cordova and Larry Smith. A playnight sponsored by Girls' Sports Club helped to fill the November extra-curricular calendar. School class rings were sold to seniors and juniors. The Senior Class and the bands had a Music Rock 1 + 1 Festival one day during lunches and study halls. A pep rally assembly was presented to the students to build up spirit for the forthcoming football game against Sandia High School. Cross Country had its state meet in Roswell. Harvey the first play given this year, was a big success. Action reached a higher pitch when West Mesa's mighty faculty played the Harlem Majcstics.
