Students Learn To Communicate Mrs. Hauser, student teacher in English II, prepares herself for future career while teaching sophomore basic grammar. English Department courses are designed to give all students, whether college-bound or otherwise, a well-rounded background. Sophomore English acquaints students with var- ious types of literature. Shakespeare ' s Julius Caesar and George Elliot ' s Silas Marner are studied. A basic grammar course is also stressed. Juniors learn and demonstrate the correct pro- cedure for writing a term paper. American litera- ture enlightens students to the importance of con- tributions made by our country ' s authors. Greek Mythology, as well as vocabulary study and a more detailed course in grammar, is offered to students in English IV. Seniors also read and learn to appreciate Greek drama and Shakespeare- an literature. Mythology, the study of Greek gods, plays an important part in senior English literature study.
