I think I ' ve found it! Co-directors: Jimmy Kelly and Johnny Thompson. SAFETY PROGRAM The West Mecklenburg Seniors show their concern for safety through the activities of the Safety Club. These activities reach into many phases of our school and community life, as the club strives to promote a keen awareness of safety throughout the student body, in school and out. Although the competitive aspect of Safety Club work is no longer present, the seniors this year put forth redoubled efforts and interest in projects and in safety supervision and leadership. Projects involving driver alertness during the holiday season and student responsibility during evacuation of the school building during drills were successfully carried out. The last months of school usually bring added efforts toward the end result of a safety-minded citizenry throughout the year. At West this program is under the direction of Mr. John P. Coulter, Jr. who does an outstanding job and keeps SAFETY ever present in our minds.
