One of the most interesting and enlightning programs sponsored by the International Relations Club this year was the bringing of the Education Attache from Ghana to our campus for a visit and a lecture series. Bob Earlewine, president ot' the organization, planned a series of high school programs in which West Liberty students presented panel discussions of world problems at various area high schools. Dr. Bertha R. Leaman is the sponsor of the group. BOOK CLUB The Book Club is comprised of students who have an interest in good literature and reading. Under the direction of Vivian Boughter, the group met the first Monday of every month in the Colonial Dining Room, Shaw Hall. Robert Sykes, a former West Liberty stu- dent and presently a professor at Bethany College, was the principal outside speaker at the Book Club this year. S. N. E. A. Comprised of students who will he teachers upon grad- uation, the Student National Education Association has had another successful year. This group is one ot' the largest and most active organizations on campus. The purpose of SNEA is to provide professional training in education and to learn some of the responsibilities of being a teacher. Annually, the group sponsors a High School Visitation Day when members of local high school Future Teachers ol' America are their guests. SCIENCE CLUB Students interested in any one of the science fields comprise the Science Club. The major project of this group during the year is to organize and con- duct the Annual Science Fair lor the various high schools in the area. The Science Club often meets with repre- sentatives lrom various scientific fields to discuss recent advances in the science fields. IN TER-FRATERNITY COUNCIL The lnter-Fraternity Council is composed ol' the president and vice- president from each social fratern- ity on campus. This group serves as a regulating device for organizing the rush season, supervising the ini- tiation, and for regulating other re- quirements for pledging a fratern- ity. The Council, also, co-ordinates various inter-fraternity activities. Serving as a mediation board, the Council strives to solve any prob- lem which might arise concerning the fraternities. The chairman this year is Barry Guinng Dr. Joseph Bartell is sponsor. GREEK GOVERNING BOARDS PAN-HELLENIC COUNCIL Each social sorority on cam- pus is represented by one mem- ber on the Pan-Hellenic Council. It is through this group that the various activities including rush season, open rush season, Pan- Hellenic Week-end, and Pan- Hellenic Banquet are co-ordi- nated. This group helps formu- late the rules governing rushing seasons and regulating pledging a sorority.
